The production will be directed by Malina, a five-time Obie winner and the artistic director and co-founder of the Living Theatre.
An experimental stage troupe, the Living Theatre had resided in the Lower East Side for many years before losing the site. The New York Times reports that the troupe is currently negotiating a residency at the Clemente Soto Vélez Cultural and Educational Center.
The Living Theatre was founded in 1947 and produced such works as Paradise Now, The Connection, The Brig and Seven Meditations on Political Sado-Masochism.
Malina's film work includes "Enemies, A Love Story" and "Dog Day Afternoon," and her TV work includes "The Sopranos." She has also authored "The Diaries of Judith Malina, 1947-57."
