Entitled "The Making of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang," the DVD is narrated by Sally Ann Howes, who played Truly Scrumptious in the original film, and gives viewers behind-the-scenes access to one of the West End's biggest hits. The DVD/video includes excerpts from such songs as "Hushabye Mountain," "Me Ol' Bamboo," "The Bombie Samba," "Doll on a Music Box"/"Truly Scrumptious" and the show's finale.

Some of the other features of the recording include interviews with the original London cast — Michael Ball, Emma Williams, Anton Rodgers, Brian Blessed and Richard O'Brien — and crew as well as the manufacturing of Chitty's flying car and the struggle to complete the show on time.
