News "The Office" Star John Krasinski Unites With Hamilton Director for Theatrical Debut at the Public Primetime Emmy nominee John Krasinski, who played Jim in the award-winning TV series "The Office," is set to lead the cast of the world premiere of Sarah Burgess' Dry Powder at the Public Theater.

Helmed by Hamilton and In the Heights director Thomas Kail, the Off-Broadway engagement will begin previews March 1, 2016, running through April 10.

Krasinski will play Seth, a managing director at a private equity firm in the midst of a PR debacle. He plans to invest in an American-made luggage company in order to save the business however his partner Jenny is determined to exploit the company at every (human) cost. It is described as a "gripping, razor-sharp" play, "about the people molding and messing with the American economy." Further casting and details to be announced at a later date.

After numerous TV and film appearances, Dry Powder marks Krasinski's theatrical debut. He next stars in Michael Bay’s upcoming Benghazi film "13 Hours," to be released by Paramount early next year, and also directs and stars in the upcoming film "Like it Once Was" alongside Anna Kendrick and Richard Jenkins.

Tickets to Dry Powder will be available to Public Theater Members from Nov. 12 and open to the general public from Dec. 3 by calling 212) 967-7555, visiting PublicTheater, or in person at the Taub Box Office at The Public Theater at 425 Lafayette St.
