Earlier in the summer, the Roundabout Theatre Company's production of The Boys From Syracuse opened at Broadway's American Airlines Theatre. And, now, the Shakespearean play that inspired that Rodgers and Hart musical will be mounted at the Guthrie Theatre.
Featuring direction and scenic design by Dominique Serrand, The Comedy of Errors will play the Minnesota Theatre Sept. 28 through Nov. 3. The remainder of the creative team comprises Fabio Toblini (costume design), Marcus Dilliard (lighting design), Scott W. Edwards (sound design), Eric Jensen (composer), Marcela Lorca (movement coach), Andrew Wade (voice and language consultant), Michael Lupu and Jason Brown (dramaturgy) and Brian Klevan Schneider (stage manager).
Heading the cast of Shakespeare's comedy of mistaken identities are Randy Reyes as Dromio of Ephesus/Dromio of Syracuse and Judson Pearce Morgan as Antipholus of Ephesus/Antipholus of Syracuse. Others in the company include Michelle O'Neill (Adriana, wife of Antipholus of Ephesus), Sally Wingert (Emilia, Abbess at Ephesus/Luce), Stephen Yoakam (Solinus, Duke of Ephesus), Laura Esping (Luciana, Adriana's sister), Jennifer Baldwin Peden (Diva), Brian Baumgartner (Angelo, a goldsmith), Jennifer Blagen (First Merchant), Eric Bondoc (Dromio Double), Bob Davis (Balthasar, a merchant), Charles Fraser (Antipholus Double), Bradley Greenwald (Dr. Pinch, a school master), Richard S. Iglewski (Egeon, a merchant of Syracuse), Nathan Keepers (Second Merchant) and Christina Baldwin Fletcher (a Courtesan).
