News "The Original Recordings That Inspired The Broadway Hit After Midnight" Hits Shelves Today Legacy Recordings, the catalog division of Sony Music Entertainment, releases the physical version of "Duke Ellington: The Original Recordings That Inspired The Broadway Hit After Midnight" June 17.

This album collects Ellington's original recordings (between 1927-40) showcased in the musical revue After Midnight, a 2014 Tony nominee for Best Musical. It includes songs such as "It Don't Mean a Thing," "Stormy Weather" and "Cotton Club Stomp."

As previously reported, After Midnight will close earlier than expected. Patti LaBelle is the show's final guest-star vocalist, and the run will end June 29. 

After Midnight was nominated for seven 2014 Tony Awards, winning for Best Choreography (Carlyle). After Midnight received an Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Choreographer (Carlyle), Drama Desks for Outstanding Revue and Outstanding Choreography (Carlyle) and Astaire Awards for Outstanding Choreographer of a Broadway Show (Carlyle), Outstanding Female Dancer in a Broadway Show (Karine Plantadit), Outstanding Female Dancer in a Broadway Show (Dormeshia Sumbry-Edwards) and Outstanding Male Dancer in a Broadway Show (Jared Grimes).
