Education News The Phantom of the Opera Will Offer Creating the Magic Events for 2,500 NYC Public School Students The Broadway hit will partner with Inside Broadway for the May 22 programs.

NYC arts education nonprofit Inside Broadway and Broadway's The Phantom of the Opera will present Creating the Magic—offering a behind-the-scenes look at the hit musical—May 22.

Featuring members of the Phantom cast and production crew, the 70-minute programs will be offered to over 2,500 NYC public school students at the Majestic Theatre at 11 AM and 2 PM. The event will feature set, lighting, sound, and prop demonstrations, musical performances from the cast, and a Q&A session.

“It’s a great honor to be able to present this long-running and classic Broadway production in our Creating the Magic series,” said Inside Broadway Executive Director Michael Presser in a statement.

Having recently celebrated 30 years, Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera is the longest-running show in Broadway history.

Inside Broadway, established by Presser in 1982 in cooperation with The Shubert Organization, reaches over 70,000 New York City students in over 100 public schools each year.
