News The Play About the Naked Guy to Begin Off-Broadway Run Feb. 4 Sex sells – but at what price? So asks the Emerging Artists Theatre production of David Bell's The Play About the Naked Guy, which begins a four-week limited engagement Feb. 4.

Tom Wojtunik will direct the Emerging Artists Staging, featuring Christopher Borg, Wayne Henry, Stacy Mayer, Michael Zahler, Ellen Reilly, Jason Schuchman, Christopher Sloan and Dan Amboyer.

In The Play About the Naked Guy, production notes explain, "the Integrity Players, an off-off Broadway theatre company dedicated to faithfully presenting the 'lesser known' classics, is on the brink of shuttering. When a trio of artistically questionable though financially successful impresarios, responsible for such stage hits as Naked Boys Running Around Naked and Drunk Frat Boys Making Porn, offer to help save their company, an epic and hilarious battle between commercialism and artistic allegiance ensues."

The creative team for The Play About the Naked Guy features Ryan Kasprzak and Derek Roland (choreography), Michael P. Kramer (set design), David Withrow (costume design), Travis Walker (lighting design), Ryan Homsey (sound design) and Jennifer Russo (stage manager).

The Play About the Naked Guy was previously presented by Emerging Artists in 2004 under the title The Gay Naked Play. The popular staging enjoyed an extended run and an HX Award nomination.

The Play About the Naked Guy runs Feb. 4-Mar. 2. An opening night is scheduled for Feb. 9 at the Baruch Performing Arts Center. Tickets are available by calling (866) 811-4111 or by visiting www.eatheatre.org. The Baruch Performing Arts Center is located at 55 Lexington Avenue at 25th Street in Manhattan.
