As previously reported, Alison Luff, who last appeared on Broadway in Escape to Margaritaville, will step into the central role of Jenna July 23, taking over for Shoshana Bean. And YouTube stars Colleen Ballinger (a.k.a. Miranda Sings) and Todrick Hall (an alum of Kinky Boots and Chicago) are also slated to join the Sara Bareilles musical this summer, playing Dawn and Ogie August 20 through September 15.

Based upon the 2007 motion picture written by Adrienne Shelly, Waitress is the first Broadway musical to have women in the four top creative team spots, with a book by Jessie Nelson, a score by six-time Grammy Award-nominated singer-songwriter Bareilles, choreography by Lorin Latarro, and direction by Tony Award winner Diane Paulus.

The musical currently stars Bean, Charity Angel Dawson, Caitlin Houlahan, Bergen, Ben Thompson, Larry Marshall, Benny Elledge, Noah Galvin, Melody A. Betts, Tyrone Davis Jr., Andrew Fitch, Molly Hager, Jessie Hooker-Bailey, Arica Jackson, Molly Jobe, Brandon Kalm, Matt Kumangai, Tess Murphy, Everleigh Rotunno, Stephanie Torns, and Dan Tracy.

Waitress also plays London’s West End at the Adelphi Theatre and a North American tour.
