The new series has been steadily declining in viewership since its debut: 5 million viewers for its premiere, 3.8 million viewers for its second episode and 3.2 million viewers for its most recent offering.

The industry paper says that beginning Oct. 31 Brian Williams' "Rock Center" will take its place. Repeats of "Prime Suspect" will be seen until that time.

Benanti, most recently on Broadway in a Tony-nominated turn in Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, portrayed Carol-Lynne, a love interest of playboy Nick Dalton (Eddie Cibrian) and the Bunny Mother in charge of supervising all the Bunnies.

The cast also featured Amber Heard as Bunny Maureen, Naturi Naughton as Bunny Brenda, Leah Renee as Bunny Alice, Jenna Dewan as Bunny Janie, David Krumholtz as Billy Rosen and Wes Ramsey as Max.

"In Chicago in the early 1960s," according to press notes for the pilot episode, "a young woman seeking adventure as a Bunny in the glamorous world of the Playboy Club quickly finds herself in over her head."
