The cast of the New York premiere also features Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’s Katherine Reis, William Apps (Wolf in the River) and Connor Barrett (Finer Noble Gases).

Performances are scheduled to play through June 19 at Atlantic Stage 2.

Here’s how the Atlantic bills the play: “Ellis Shook lives alone in a small duplex apartment in Paducah, Kentucky. He works nights buffing floors, keeps to himself - and always remembers to take his medication. But when two teenage girls arrive at his doorstep one autumn afternoon, their visit will force him to confront a tragic past while also offering him a glimpse at hope.”

The Purple Lights of Joppa Illinois features scenic design by Andromache Chalfant, costume design by Jessica Pabst, lighting design by Keith Parham, sound design by Christian Frederickson and casting by Carparelliotis Casting.

Rapp's other plays include Wolf in the River, Dreams of Flying Dreams of Falling, Red Light Winter and Finer Noble Gases.

Tickets are available online at atlantictheater.org, by calling OvationTix at (866) 811-4111, or in person at The Linda Gross Theater box office, located at 336 West 20th Street, Manhattan.
