First seen at Chichester last year, it returns there this year from Aug. 15 for a run through Sept. 14, prior to moving to London. Presented in a translation by George Tabori that has been revised by Alistair Beaton, it is directed by Chichester's artistic director Jonathan Church and features Henry Goodman in the title role.

Goodman, who won the Theatre Award UK for his performance, is currently starring at the Old Vic in Rattigan's The Winslow Boy. Other recent West End credits include Yes, Prime Minister (also transferred from Chichester), Duet for One (transferred from the Almeida) and Fiddler on the Roof (transferred from Sheffield's Crucible). He has appeared extensively at the National, Royal Shakespeare Company and Royal Court. On Broadway, he has been seen in Art, The Producers and Tartuffe.

Also in the cast are Keith Baxter as the Actor, Michael Feast as Roma, William Gaunt as Old Dogsborough and Joe McCann as Giri/O'Casey. Further casting is still to be announced.

It is designed by Simon Higlett, with lighting by Tim Mitchell, music by Matthew Scott and sound by Mike Walker.
