News The Return of Angel Reapers Begins Tonight Off-Broadway Performances begin Feb. 2 at Off-Broadway Signature Theatre for the revival of Martha Clarke and Alfred Uhry's acclaimed Angel Reapers. "Angel Reapers captures the soul of the Shakers, an early American religious sect, which sought to connect with God through ecstatic ritual and strict celibacy," state Signature press notes. "While the congregants strive desperately to maintain divine purity, the needs of the flesh threaten to take hold." The theatre bills the show as a "wildly theatrical collage about the glorious love of the divine and the overwhelming desire for human connection."

The design team includes Marsha Ginsberg (scenic design), Donna Zakowska (costume design), Christopher Akerlind (lighting design), Samuel Crawford and Arthur Solari (sound design) and Solari (music direction). B. Bales Karlin is the production stage manager. Casting is by Telsey + Company, Tiffany Little Canfield, CSA.
