News THE SCREENING ROOM: Celebrating John Kander and Fred Ebb's Chicago (Video) The 1975 Tony Award-nominated Best Musical Chicago, featuring the music of John Kander and Fred Ebb, ended its Broadway run Aug. 27, 1977. In celebration of the iconic musical, Playbill.com looks back.

The musical, directed and choreographed by Bob Fosse, was nominated for 11 Tony Awards in 1976, including Best Musical. The Tony-winning revival, which opened on Broadway in 1996, currently plays the Ambassador Theatre.
