News THE SCREENING ROOM: Favorite Performances from Memphis (Video) The Tony Award-winning musical Memphis, which features a blues, rock and gospel score by David Bryan and Joe DiPietro, is getting closer to a big-screen debut.

The authors have been working on a film adaptation for several years, as Playbill.com first reported in 2010. It was also reported Oct. 15 that producers Mark Gordon and Molly Smith are now attached to bring that project to fruition. Memphis was also filmed live on stage for an HD broadcast in cinemas across the U.S. That version is now available on DVD, Blu-ray and streaming.
