The musical, which features a score by Stephen Schwartz, includes classic songs such as "Day by Day," "Learn Your Lessons Well," "Prepare Ye" and "Light of the World," among others.
Godspell—a hip musical re-telling of the New Testament’s Gospel of Matthew—made its New York City premiere in May 1971.
In the revival, Hunter Parrish, who made his Broadway debut in Spring Awakening and is best known for his work on the Showtime series “Weeds,” stars as Jesus. He is joined by a cast that includes Uzo Aduba, Nick Blaemire, Celisse Henderson, Morgan James, Joaquina Kalukango, Eric Michael Krop, Telly Leung, Julia Mattison, Lindsay Mendez, George Salazar, Wallace Smith and Anna Maria Perez de Tagle.
