In celebration of Brightman's birthday, we take a look back at the award-winning artist's career, which includes musical appearances on Broadway, in the West End and at the Olympic games, among others.

Brightman made her West End musical theatre debut in the Olivier and Tony Award-winning musical Cats, where she met composer Lloyd Webber, whom she married in 1984. Although Brightman played the role of Jemima in Cats, here she sings an Italian version of "Memory," which is performed in the musical by Grizabella.

In 1988, Brightman made her Broadway debut with Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera. Here is her performance with Michael Crawford at the 1988 Tony Awards. The duo performed the title song as well as "Music of the Night."

Brightman, best known for her performance as Christine Daaé, has performed tunes from Phantom of the Opera throughout the years. Here is a performance of "All I Ask of You" alongside singer Josh Groban, who is also known for his classical style.

Here, Brightman sings "Time to Say Goodbye," the famous chart-topping duet with Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli, at a 1997 concert.

Over the years, Brightman has also been invited to perform at the Olympic ceremonies. Here is her performance of "Amigos Para Siempre" with Spanish tenor José Carreras at the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games.

She returned to the Olympics in 2008 and performed "You and Me" alongside Chinese singer Liu Huan at the opening ceremony in Beijing.

Brightman's second Broadway outing was in the 1990 musical Aspects of Love, which also features music by Lloyd Webber. The actress, who was also seen in the West End production of Aspects, played the role of Rose Vibert. Here, she sings "Love Changes Everything."

Although Brightman and Lloyd Webber separated in 1990, she was known for singing his classics. Here is her performance of "Don't Cry For Me, Argentina" from Evita.

Lloyd Webber received the Kennedy Center Honor in 2006. Here, Brightman speaks about her former husband and colleague at the ceremony.

Here, Brightman takes on a Leonard Bernstein-Stephen Sondheim tune — "Somewhere" from West Side Story.

At her Vienna concert, Brightman performed "Fleurs Du Mal," among others.

Brightman sang with young classical singer Jackie Evancho on the 2010 season finale of "America's Got Talent." Here is their performance of "Time to Say Goodbye."
