News THE SCREENING ROOM: Janis Joplin and Mary Bridget Davies Offer a Piece of Their Hearts A Night With Janis Joplin opens on Broadway Oct. 10, starring Mary Bridget Davies as the titular singer who rose to fame before dying in 1970 at 27.

Joplin, who highlighted the Monterey Pop Festival and Woodstock, was known as "The Queen of Psychedelic Soul" and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995.
