News THE SCREENING ROOM: Meet Jeremy Jordan's Character in Broadway's Newsies (Video) Jeremy Jordan, who stars as Jack Kelly in the upcoming Disney musical Newsies, describes his role in the new Broadway production in the "Meet the Newsies" video series.

Jordan originated the role of Jack Kelly in the Paper Mill Playhouse limited engagement last fall. Newsies, the stage adaptation of the 1992 Disney movie musical, received its world premiere at New Jersey's Paper Mill, where it played through Oct. 16, 2011.

Directed by Tony nominee Jeff Calhoun, Newsies will also star John Dossett (2003 revival of Gypsy) as Joseph Pulitzer, Kara Lindsay (Little House on the Prairie) as Katherine Plumber, Capathia Jenkins (The Civil War; The Look of Love; Caroline, or Change; and Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me) as Medda, Andrew Keenan-Bolger (Mary Poppins) as Crutchie, Ben Fankhauser (Spring Awakening national tour) as Davey and Lewis Grosso (Mary Poppins) and Matthew Schechter (Elf) alternating the role of Les. (Jordan, Dossett, Lindsay, Fankhauser and Keenan-Bolger will all reprise the roles they created in the Paper Mill Playhouse production.) To meet Keenan-Bolger's character, Crutchie, click here.

Newsies will begin performances March 15, prior to an official opening March 29, at the Nederlander Theatre. It will play a limited 101-performance engagement through June 10.
