News THE SCREENING ROOM: Playbill Video Warms Up With the Newsies (Video) Broadway's Newsies received a 2012 Tony Award nomination for the athletic, balletic, kinetic choreography created by Christopher Gattelli. Playbill Video recently caught up with the show's dancers, who offered an exclusive peek at their special pre-show warm-up routine at the Nederlander Theatre.

Newsies cast members Ryan Steele, Ephraim Sykes, Garett Hawe and Thayne Jasperson warm up with elements of yoga, classical barre and gym routine prior to each performance of the new dance-driven Disney musical.

Here, the four dancers chat with Playbill about Gattelli's choreography, which is designed to tell story through dance. "It's absolutely story," Gattelli told Playbill.com. "Even when they back-flip, what that represents is their vitality and their energy and their youth."
