News   THE SCREENING ROOM: Rory O'Malley Offers a Backstage Tour at The Book of Mormon (Video)
Tony Award nominee Rory O'Malley recently took My Fox backstage at The Book of Mormon for a tour of the Eugene O'Neill Theatre, which houses the Tony Award-winning musical.

O'Malley stars as Elder McKinley in Mormon, a role that earned him a 2011 Tony nomination for Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Musical. He is joined by Tony nominees Andrew Rannells (Elder Price) and Josh Gad (Elder Cunningham), as well as Tony winner Nikki M. James (Nabalungi). The Book of Mormon, by Emmy Award-winning “South Park” creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone and Avenue Q Tony Award winner Robert Lopez, follows two Mormon missionaries as they venture from Salt Lake City to AIDS-ravaged Uganda in the hopes of converting villagers with the story of Joseph Smith and the founding of the Mormon Church. The problem is only one of them has actually read the book.

Mormon picked up Tony Awards for Best Musical, Best Score (Parker, Lopez and Stone), Best Book (Parker, Lopez and Stone), Best Direction (Parker and co-director/choreographer Casey Nicholaw), Best Performance by a Featured Actress (James), Best Orchestrations (Larry Hochman and Stephen Oremus), Best Scenic Design (Scott Pask), Best Sound Design (Brian Ronan) and Best Lighting Design (Brian MacDevitt).
