As the critically-acclaimed revival of Side Show takes its final Broadway bow Jan. 4, Playbill.com takes a look back at the original production and footage from the new version of the Bill Russell-Henry Krieger work.

The original Broadway production opened in October 1997 at the Richard Rodgers Theatre, with Alice Ripley and Emily Skinner in the roles of conjoined twins, Violet and Daisy Hilton. The musical returned to Broadway in October 2014, featuring new songs and a refashioned book. Erin Davie and Emily Padgett star as the twins.

Side Show revival performs on the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade:

 

Original stars Alice Ripley and Emily Skinner performing "Who Will Love Me As I Am?" on "The Rosie O'Donnell Show."

"We Share Everything" during the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. The song has been cut from the latest version of the show.

Months after Side Show closed, Skinner and Ripley reunited to perform "I Will Never Leave You" at the Tony Awards.
