News The Secretaries Returns to New York Stage May 22 The Project Theater presents a limited revival of the Five Lesbian Brothers' dark comedy The Secretaries beginning May 22.

Directed by Project artistic director Joe Jung, the staging marks the first revival of the work since its 1994 premiere. The Secretaries runs through June 6 at the 78th Street Theatre Lab.

According to press notes, The Secretaries, "irreverently and unapologetically explores the ever-expanding human fascination with sex and violence, the journey from self-improvement to self-destruction and the question of what it means to be 'strong' women in a modern world. If Russ Mayer and John Carpenter were characters on 'The L Word,' had a baby and moved to Stepford, perhaps that child would dream up The Secretaries."

The cast of the 90-minute production includes Karis Danish, Laura Dillman, Brian Frank, Tara Franklin, Jessi Blue Gormezano, Andrew McLeod and Jenny Schutzman.

Originally staged by Kate Stafford, the Five Lesbian Brothers include Maureen Angelos, Babs Davy, Dominique Dibbell, Peg Healey and Lisa Kron.

For tickets phone (917) 575-5922. The 78th Street Theatre LAB is located at 236 W. 78th Street in Manhattan.
