The Signature Project

Having toured the country for over two decades, Patrick Dunning’s The Signature Project makes its Off-Broadway premiere next month.

Performances will begin March 8 with an official opening March 11 at the Sheen Center in Manhattan.

Directed by Eric Paul Vitale, The Signature Project is actually a huge mural by artist Dunning that aims to create one painting by combining the signatures of millions of strangers. The Signature Project performance weaves stories, images, music, and dance in a blend of art and technology. According to press notes, “The painting and the play are constantly changing and evolving as people contribute their signature and story to the larger art work, adding perspectives and ideas which make the world so special, beyond imagination.”
