The Creative Arts Emmys are awards presented in recognition of technical or design achievement in television programming.
According to Deadline.com, the winners of the ceremony included several Broadway and stage veterans; in the winners category were stage veterans Janney who won a guest star Emmy for "Masters of Sex," Joe Morton (Art) who won a guest star Emmy for "Scandal" and Uzo Aduba (Godspell) who won a guest star Emmy for "Orange Is The New Black."
"The Sound of Music Live!" won for technical direction, camerawork and video control for a special event. The Creative Arts Emmy for a Special Class Program went to the 67th Annual Tony Awards and the Miranda and Kitt team won for original music and lyrics for their "Bigger" number performed at the ceremony broadcast.
Broadway and "Glee" star Jane Lynch also received a Creative Arts Emmy for hosting "Hollywood Game Night."
The ceremony was held Aug. 16 at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles. The 66th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards will air Aug. 25 at 8:00 PM EST.
