News The SpongeBob Musical Announces NYC Audition Dates! "Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?" It could be you! The recently announced "SpongeBob Squarepants" musical has set audition dates for New York City.

Auditions for The SpongeBob Musical will be held Sept. 15 at Pearl Studios. Equity Female Singers are called at 10 AM. Equity Male Singers are called at 2 PM. Auditioners are asked to prepare a brief uptempo pop/rock song and to bring sheet music and a photo/resume stapled together. A piano accompanist will be provided.

Rehearsals will begin in New York City April 11, 2016, with out-of-town performances May 31-July 3, 2016. Broadway previews and opening dates have yet to be announced.

The SpongeBob Musical will be directed by Tina Landau. It features a book by Kyle Jarrow, music supervision by Tom Kitt and music direction by Julie McBride.

So "rev up those fryers" and prepare to use your "imagination" because SpongeBob is coming to Broadway and you could be a part of it!

Male Ensemble Singers: Males, All ethnicities, to play early 20’s-mid 40’s. Seeing a variety of character types of all shapes and sizes to play several featured ensemble roles. Must have excellent comedic timing, extremely strong pop/rock or contemporary musical theatre voices, and be able to move extremely well. Most ensemble roles will understudy principal roles.
