Tony winner John Rando (Urinetown) directs the preview of the new musical at the Jerry Orbach Theater in the Snapple Theater Center, 210 West 50th Street.

The cast features Maia Guest, Jen Frankel, Drew McVety, Christine Bokhour, Jason Patrick Sands, Adam Dannheisser, Kevin Carolan, Michael Dionissiou, Jeffrey Kuhn, Craig Fols and Raymond Bokhour.

The Suicide, which is described as "a wacky original musical comedy set in Stalin's brutal Soviet Union," features music by Simon Gray, lyrics by Raymond Bokhour and book by David Bridel. It is adapted from the play by Nikolai Erdman, banned personally by Stalin.

"An unemployed grumbler becomes convinced that suicide is his ticket to fame and glory," according to press notes. "Before long, friends and neighbors are plotting to exploit his impending death for fun and profit, and while they’re at it, topple an entire regime."

Fred Lassen is the musical director.

Single admission is $18. For reservations, call (212) 989-6706 or email [email protected].
