The Shakespeare Center of Los Angeles is presenting the dramatic court trial, which was seen at the Kennedy Center in 2007, on Jan. 31. Justice Kennedy was also part of that presentation.
The evening uses the plot of Shakespeare's tragedy to put Hamlet on trial for the murder of Polonius. Graham Hamilton will play Hamlet.
Justice Kennedy will preside over arguments by Los Angeles County Bar Association members Richard G. Hirsch and Blair Berk for the defense and Danette Meyers and Nathan J. Hochman, Los Angeles County Bar Association members, for the prosecution.
Hunt and Irwin will serve on a jury that also includes Caroline Bailey, Larry Silverton, Frank Price and more.
Forensic Psychiatrist Dr. Saul Faerstein will serve as the expert witness for the defense, with Psychiatrist Dr. Ronald Markman standing for the prosecution. The Trial of Hamlet will take place at 7:30 PM at the Bovard Auditorium on the University of Southern California campus. For tickets, ranging $30-$100, phone (800) 838-3006 or visit ShakespeareCenter.
