The Verdict The Verdict: Read Reviews of London's Beautiful — The Carole King Musical The West End production of Beautiful – The Carole King Musical officially opened Feb. 24 (following previews that began Feb. 10) at the Aldwych Theatre. It is currently booking through June 13.

The principal cast includes Katie Brayben as Carole King, Alan Morrissey as King's husband and songwriting partner Gerry Goffin, Lorna Want as songwriter Cynthia Weil, Glynis Barber as Genie Klein, King’s mother, Gary Trainor as music publisher and producer Don Kirshner, and Ian McIntosh as songwriter Barry Mann.

Vivien Carter, Ed Currie, Oliver Lidert, Fela Lufadeju, Tanya Nicole-Edwards, Terel Nugent, Jay Perry, Tanisha Spring, Lucy St. Louis, Danielle Steers, Dylan Turner and Joanna Woodwood play iconic musical performers and band members of the era. Ensemble members are Andy Coxon, Jason Denton, Michael Anthony Duke, Joel Harper-Jackson, Rosie Heath, Aisha Jawando, Hannah Jay-Allan and Leigh Lothian.

Beautiful has a book by Douglas McGrath with words and music by Gerry Goffin, Carole King, Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil and is directed by Marc Bruni. Choreography is by Josh Prince with set designs by Derek McLane, costume designs by Alejo Viettii, lighting by Peter Kaczorowski and sound by Brian Ronan. Orchestrations and music arrangements are by Steve Sidwell.
