News The Walworth Farce to Make U.S. Debut at St. Ann's St. Ann's Warehouse will present the U.S. premiere of Enda Walsh's topical comedy The Walworth Farce beginning April 15.

Originally commissioned by the Druid Theatre Company of Galway (The Beauty Queen of Leenane), the production will play St. Ann's through May 4.

The Walworth Farce is described in press notes as a "play disguised as an old-fashioned high farce, complete with rapid costume changes, cross-dressing, and mistaken identity. The Walworth Farce combines hilarious moments with shocking realism—frenetic, madcap slapstick with deeper, darker concerns—to deliver an achingly tender insight into what happens when we become stuck in the stories we tell ourselves about our lives."

The four-member company includes Denis Conway, Tadhg Murphy, Garrett Lombard and Mercy Ojelade under the direction of Mikel Murfi.

Walworth's creative team comprises Sabine Dargent (production design), Paul Keogan (lighting design) and Doreen McKenna (costume supervisor).

The Druid Theatre Company's new writing program, DruidNew – which originally commissioned The Walworth Farce – will next premiere Walsh's New Electric Ballroom in both Galway and in Edinburgh. A U.S. tour of Playboy of the Western World and Shadow of the Glen are also on the horizon for Druid, which mounts a tour of Martin McDonagh's Cripple of Inishmann in Ireland and the U.K. later this year.

St. Ann's Warehouse is located at 38 Water Street (between Main and Dock St.) in Brooklyn, New York.
