Saturday, September 14
OPENING (TOUR)→ Ghost The Musical — based on the famous 1990 film about a young, pottery-loving couple torn apart by a sudden murder, only to be brought together again by a kooky medium — launches its first national tour. This musicalized version of the famous Patrick Swayze-Demi Moore film features tunes from Eurythmics’ Dave Stewart and famed music producer Glen Ballard. (Proctors, 432 State St., Schenectady, NY. Info/tickets.)

Sunday, September 15
LAST CHANCE→ The redux of Forever Tango closes on Broadway. Luis Bravo's famous love letter to the steamy Latin dance illustrates the history of the tango with a swinging live band and fancy footwork courtesy of 13 ballroom dancers. (Walter Kerr Theatre, 219 W. 48th St., btwn. Broadway & 8th Ave. Click here for Playbill Club discount tickets.)

LAST CHANCE→ Old Jews Telling Jokes spins its last yarn at the Westside Theatre. Dara Cameron, Chuck Rea, Marilyn Sokol, Todd Susman and Steve Vinovich make up the titular Jews — some old, some young — in this popular, hammy yukfest (well, maybe something more kosher than ham). (Westside Theatre, 407 W. 43rd St., btwn. 8th & 9th Aves. Click here for Playbill Club discount tickets.)

LAST CHANCE→ After 900+ performances as Broadway’s original Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Reeve Carney will take his last flight in the multi-million dollar spectacular, Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark. The production, famously featuring the music of U2’s Bono and The Edge, cast a wide net… er “web”… in search of a replacement for Carney in the form of coast-to-coast open casting calls earlier this year. Broadway's newest superhero will be unveiled at Sunday's curtain call, and we'll post the news on Playbill.com! (Foxwoods Theatre, 213 W. 42nd St., btwn. 7th & 8th Aves. (Through Oct. 13, Linda Gross Theater, 336 W. 20th St., btwn. 8th & 9th Aves. Info/tickets.)

Tuesday, September 17
OPENING→ The splashy and ultimately tragic life of stripper-turned-megastar Anna Nicole Smith is explored in the unique new opera, Anna Nicole, by Mark-Anthony Turnage and Richard Thomas. Mary Testa, James Barbour and Sarah Joy Miller star in the production. Thomas is no stranger to turning mayhem into music, having penned the British musical Jerry Springer: The Opera. (Through Sept. 28, BAM’s Howard Gilman Opera House, 30 Lafayette Ave., Brooklyn, NY. Info/tickets.)

Wednesday, September 18
PREVIEWS→ “The Sopranos” star Joe Pantoliano stars as Yogi Berra in Bronx Bombers. The new drama from Lombardi and Magic/Bird scribe Eric Simonson examines the Yankees through the stories of its famous players like Berra, Derek Jeter (Christopher Jackson), Joe DiMaggio (Chris Henry Coffey), Mickey Mantle (Bill Dawes) and Lou Gehrig (John Wernke). Officially opens Oct. 8. (The Duke on 42nd St., 229 W. 42nd St., btwn. 7th & 8th Aves. Info/tickets.)

Thursday, September 19
OPENING→ Hollywood hunk Orlando Bloom stars as Romeo in Broadway’s newest incarnation of Shakespeare’s famous tragedy Romeo and Juliet. Playing “the sun” to Bloom’s “fair Romeo” is Condola Rashad, a bright new leading lady on Broadway, having earned Tony nods her last two times on the Boards. This modern-day, David Leveaux-helmed production features a multiracial cast with a black Capulet family pit against a white Montague family. (Richard Rodgers Theatre, 226 W. 46th St., btwn. Broadway & 8th Ave. Click here for Playbill Club discount tickets.)

Friday, September 20
GO→ Sutton Foster has returned to the stage at the Café Carlyle for a bares-her-soul performance that finds the two-time Tony winner taking on songs about love (“Warm All Over,” “Nearness of You”), love lost (“My Heart Was Set On You,” “Lies of Handsome Men”) and general quirkiness (“Good Old Desk,” “Air Conditioner”). It’s a “must see” in my book! (Through Sept. 28, Café Carlyle, 35 E. 76th St., at Madison Ave. Info/tickets.)
