The West End production of The Commitments, a stage version of Roddy Doyle's best-selling novel of the same name, has extended bookings at the Palace Theatre through Sept. 13, 2015.

The show, which began performances Sept. 21, 2013, prior to an official opening Oct. 8, is directed by Jamie Lloyd, currently stars Brian Gilligan as Deco, and previously played the drummer Billy 'The Animal' Mooney.

He was cast after C Jay Ranger, the show's associate director, heard him singing Marvin Gaye's soul classic 'I Heard it through the Grapevine' backstage by chance, and he was auditioned to play take over as Deco.
