News The Wonderful Wizard of Song Will Celebrate One-Year Anniversary With New Songs, Sets and Cast Members The Wonderful Wizard of Song, The Music of Oz Composer Harold Arlen, which began performances Dec. 17, 2012, and officially opened Jan. 10, 2013, will celebrate its one-year anniversary at St. Luke's Theatre.

In celebration of the milestone — as well as the upcoming 75th anniversary of "The Wizard of Oz" — director Gene Castle (Gypsy, High Spirits, George M!) is expanding the show with additional Arlen songs, new sets, media imagery and two new cast members, Allicia Lawson and Adam Kemmerer.

Lawson and Kemmerer join Marcus Goldhaber and George Bugatti to round out the Three Crooners, who are the hosts of the show.

"Harold penned over 550 songs and worked with many lyricists, including Johnny Mercer, Dorothy Fields, Truman Capote and Ira Gershwin. We have included all the big hits as well as the important works," said producer Shea in statement.

The Wonderful Wizard of Song was created by Nigel Wright, Sam Arlen (son of composer Harold Arlen) and George Bugatti. "Weaving rare archival movies, photos and behind the scenes footage from 'The Wizard of Oz' into the vignettes that feature each hit, the show," according to press notes, "travels from The Cotton Club to the screens of Hollywood to the Broadway stage and to the Land of Oz."
