Following the example of their New York cousins, the busy bees of Live Oak Theatre's Austin production of Douglas Carter Beane's As Bees in Honey Drown cease buzzing on June 7. The Off-Broadway production will close on the same date. Beane's play tells the story of Evan Wyler, a neophyte novelist who is duped by serial scam artist and self-made celebrity Alexa Vere de Vere. Babs George stars as Alexa, a role originated by J. Cameron Smith. John Vincent Hoff is Wyler. Also in the cast are Catherine Glynn, Boni Hester, David Stokey and Ken Webster.
