News   "Theater Talk" Spotlights "Phantom" Film Dec. 17
The Dec. 17 broadcast of "Theater Talk," the PBS chat show that primarily features interviews with top theatre writers and performers, will turn its attention to the silver screen.

Composer Andrew Lloyd Webber and director Joel Schumacher will discuss their new film, "The Phantom of the Opera," which recently premiered in London and will open in many U.S. cities Dec. 22. The motion picture — based on the long-running musical of the same name — stars Gerard Butler in the title role, Emmy Rossum as Christine and Patrick Wilson as Raoul, and includes one new song by Lloyd Webber and lyricist Charles Hart.

Hosted by New York Post theatre columnist Michael Riedel and producer Susan Haskins, "Theater Talk" airs late Friday nights at midnight on WNET/Thirteen.
