News Theatre Community Rallies Around Popular Director After Stroke Fans and friends of Washington DC-based stage and film director Gabriele Jakobi have organized an online fundraising campaign to help her with medical bills, following a devastating early June stroke.

The Berlin-born Jakobi was to have directed a production of Chekhov's Three Sisters at Scena Theatre in DC but the production has been put off until 2016. In it's place, the company has mounted a revival of The Importance of Being Earnest.

Those who wish to help are directed to Gofundme.com/gabrielejakobi where they can make donations. Jakobi remains hospitalized.
