The app details information at all three New York City TKTS locations, including Duffy Square, the South Street Seaport and in downtown Brooklyn. It is available to download for free through March 1, 2011. An Android version is also in the works.

You can check out and download the app here.

The Official TKTS iPhone app provides extensive Broadway, Off-Broadway and Off-Off Broadway listings, as well as listings for theatre, dance and music. Information on availability and discounts is updated through software directly linked to the TKTS electronic boards.

A comprehensive map of the theatre district is included, which pinpoints a user's GPS location. TDF also offers "Hours and Tips," which delineates when the booth opens for matinee and evening performances.

Information is also available as to which productions are regularly available at TKTS and which shows rarely, if ever appear on the signature board. The detailed app gives users access to TDF Stages Magazine articles, as well as exclusive interviews with stars and artists whose work is represented on Broadway.

At this time there are not plans to provide information on the length of the line, according to TDF.

In July, TDF was caught off guard when producer Ken Davenport launched his own "At the Booth!" iPhone app (for $.99), which provides information on line length, discounts and shows available solely at the TKTS booth in Duffy Square.

TDF has also implemented the TKTS Patron Services Program, which places a team of representatives at the Duffy Square booth to aid ticket buyers in selecting the shows that might appeal to them. The representatives, some of whom are bilingual, will be equipped with iPads to assist theatregoers with further information.
