News Theatre Museum Awards Honor Broadway: The American Musical, Oct. 10 The Theatre Museum Awards, honoring excellence in theatre history preservation and theatre education, will take place October 10 at the Hudson Theatre in the Broadway Millennium Hotel.

Awards will be bestowed upon Michael Kantor and Laurence Maslon, Emmy Award-winning creators of PBS' six-hour television series Broadway: The American Musical; the Ten Chimneys Foundation, the historic home of Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne; and to those involved in the restoration of the Hudson Theatre.   David Hyde Pierce, Kitty Carlisle Hart, Gerald Schoenfeld, Anne Kaufman, and Samuel E. Wright will act as presenters. Simon Jones will host the ceremony.

  The Theatre Museum is New York's first and only chartered non-profit museum dedicated exclusively to the history of theatre. The primary mission is to preserve, protect, and perpetuate the legacy of theatre through innovative programming such as exhibitions, presentations, collaborations, education, and the Theatre Museum Awards.
