News Theodore Mann to Direct Three Little Pigs Musical at Circle in the Square Graduates of the Circle in the Square Theatre School will perform Three Little Pigs: A Musical Nov. 8 and 9 at 10:30 AM at Circle in the Square Theatre.

Theodore Mann, the co-founder and artistic director of Circle in the Square Theatre and the theatre's school (CITSTS), will direct the musical version of the well-known folk tale. The cast will include Clark Thomas Feeney, Roxanne Fox, Rachel Kincaid and Jessica Gallo Murphy. Justin Boccitto will choreograph.

The Three Little Pigs: A Musical features a book by CITSTS alum Lani Borckman and music and lyrics by Susan Bardsley.

Children in the audience will be encouraged to sing along with songs such as “Piggy Power,” “Think About Food” and “Pick of the Litter.” According to press notes, "The pigs are threatened by a hungry wolf who also sings and who wants their food and their house. Through the musical the children learn about how teamwork helps to avoid danger."

CITSTS, a two-year acting and music program for college and university graduates, was founded in 1963. Among its alumni are Philip Seymour Hoffman, Kevin Bacon, Idina Menzel, Benicio Del Toro and Kristen Johnson. Each year the School performs three folk tales for young children. Three Little Pigs: A Musical is the first production of the new season, to be followed in February with Cinderella and in March by Fat Horse & Slim: A New Musical.

The musical is recommended for grades K-6. Circle in the Square Theatre is located at 50th Street between Broadway and 8th Avenues. Admission is $5; reservations are necessary. To order, call (212) 307-0388.
