Directed by John Benjamin Hickey, the world premiere production continues to June 29. It's not the only solo world premiere work by PH this spring: Doug Wright's I Am My Own Wife is playing an acclaimed, extended run at the downstairs mainstage, to July 20.

Actor Hickey (Love! Valour! Compassion!) makes his directorial debut. Rebeck's plays include The Butterfly Collection and Spike Heels.

Julie White is a veteran of Off-Broadway's Barbra's Wedding, Rebeck's The Family of Mann and Spike Heels and "Six Feet Under" (she was the corporate funeral-home director, Mitzi).

The play "concerns Haley, a plucky New Yorker (by way of Texas), who, after spending years as a divorced mom and restaurateur, resolves to re-enter the world of dating, only to end up in hot water with the law and the Romanian mob," according to production notes. "A semi-sweet paean to lonely-hearts everywhere, Bad Dates is about learning to take a closer look, and why, when it comes down to it, there's nothing in the world like a killer pair of Chanel pumps."

Designers are Derek McLane (scenic), Mattie Ullrich (costume), Frances Aronson (lighting) and Bruce Ellman (sound). Performances play 7:30 PM Tuesdays-Fridays, 2:30 & 7:30 PM Saturdays, 2:30 & 7 PM Sundays. Tickets are $30. Student rush tickets are available for $10 (cash only, day of performance).
