News Third Street Music School Settlement to Honor Audra McDonald; Harold Prince Will Emcee Five-time Tony Award winner Audra McDonald will be honored by the Third Street Music School Settlement during its Oct. 25 118th anniversary luncheon, which will be emceed by Tony-winning director-producer Harold Prince.

McDonald, who recently concluded a heralded run in the Broadway revival of Porgy and Bess, is being honored with the Distinguished Achievement in the Arts Award. Grammy-nominated songwriter and Third Street alumnus Claude Kelly has been announced as the recipient of the Rising Star Award.

The noon event at Gotham Hall will be emceed by Prince (Phantom of the Opera, Sweeney Todd, The Prince of Broadway), who was a former board member of the Third Street Music Settlement.

Proceeds benefit Third Street’s students in need, who receive financial aid or discounted or tuition-free instruction and honors enrichment programs.
