Directed by Mark S. Hoebee with choreography by Denis Jones, performances will continue through May 5.
Thoroughly Modern Millie features a book by Richard Morris and Dick Scanlan, new music by Jeanine Tesori and new lyrics by Scanlan. The original story and screenplay were penned by Richard Morris for the Universal Pictures Film. Thoroughly Modern Millie is a co-production with Maltz Jupiter Theatre in Jupiter, FL, where it played earlier this spring.
Paper Mill describes the show as an "effervescent musical romp that will have you dancing the Charleston. It's the Roaring Twenties, and young Millie Dillmount has just arrived in New York City, a place filled with frisky flappers, dashing leading men, and a dragon lady of a villainess."
The production has scenic design by Michael Schweikardt, costume design by Martin Pakledinaz, lighting design by Kirk Bookman, sound design by Randy Hansen and hair and wig design by Rob Greene and J. Jared Janas. Helen Gregory serves as music director; production stage manager is Andrea Cibelli.
