News Thrill Me to Play Final Performance Aug. 21 The Off-Broadway musical Thrill Me, currently playing the York Theatre Company, will close after the 7 PM performance Aug. 21.

Stephen Dolginoff's new musical, about thrill killers Nathan Leopold and Richard Loeb, began previews at the York May 26 and was extended three times. About the show, York Artistic Director Jim Morgan said in a statement, "Thrill Me was a huge hit for us, and by extending eight weeks past its original six week run, far exceeded expectations. It is already on its way to a very successful life in theatres around the country. We are delighted to have helped bring another significant new musical to New York's attention."

Directed by Michael Rupert, the company currently features Shonn Wiley as Loeb and composer Dolginoff as Leopold.

Thrill Me: The Leopold & Loeb Story premiered in 2003 as part of the Fourth Annual Midtown International Theatre Festival in New York City. The musical features book, music and lyrics by Stephen Dolginoff; Eugene Gwozdz is the musical director for the York run. The remainder of the creative team comprises James Morgan (set design), Thom Weaver (lighting design) and Jennifer Paar (costume design).

The musical drama, according to production notes, "recounts the chilling tale of the legendary duo who committed one of the most infamous and heinous crimes of the 20th century. Set in 1924 Chicago, it chronicles the events that led childhood friends Nathan Leopold and Richard Loeb to forever be remembered as 'the thrill killers.'"

Thrill Me will play the following schedule: Aug. 12 at 8 PM, Aug. 13 at 5 PM, Aug. 20 at 2:30 PM and Aug. 21 at 3 and 7 PM.
