Directed by Adrienne Campbell-Holt, the production continues through July 6. The cast features Emmy nominee Tim Daly as Mark Rothko with Charles Socarides as his assistant Ken.
Red, according to press notes, "is a play about renowned artist Mark Rothko at the peak of his career. It captures the dynamic relationship between an artist and his creations."
"The play asks audiences an important question: What do you see when you look at a work of art? What is art? Who gets to decide anyway?" Dina Janis, DTF’s artistic director, said in a previous statement.
The limited engagement also has lighting design by Michael Giannitti, scenery by John McDermott, costumes by Charles Schoonmaker and sound design by M.L. Dogg.
