Prior to penning a series of children’s young adult novels, cocktail books, and the book for the musical adaptation of Tuck Everlasting, Tim Federle appeared on Broadway in shows including Gypsy and The Little Mermaid. Now, he’s revisiting his dancing days for an upcoming self-help book, titled Life is Like a Musical: How to Live, Love, and Lead Like a Star.

The book will be released October 3. Take a first look at the cover for the title on Entertainment Weekly.

Federle describes the book as “Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff, with jazz hands.” In a collection of 50 motivational essays, Federle will share tales from his theatrical expertise—from sharing a stage with Bernadette Peters to a disastrous Cats audition—that offer lessons in all aspects of life.
