News [title of show] to Make Los Angeles Bow at Celebration Theatre; Casting Announced [title of show], Hunter Bell and Jeff Bowen's affectionately campy and satirical meta-musical about the creation of a musical, will have its Los Angeles premiere courtesy of the Celebration Theatre in Hollywood.

The production will begin previews July 14 toward a July 16 opening. Performances will continue through Sept. 5.

Michael A. Sheppard will direct a cast that is set to include Jeffrey Landman, Micah McCain, Jennifer Blake and Carey Peters. Ameenah Kaplan will choreograph, and Greg Nabours will provide musical direction.

The design team will comprise scenic designer Kurt Boetcher, lighting designer Matt Denman, sound designer Veronica Lancaster and prop designer Michael O'Hara.

Described in Celebration press notes as "a musical about making a musical created by - and for - people who love musicals," [title of show] received a 2009 Tony Award nomination for its book, written by Hunter Bell. Bell, the show's composer-lyricist Jeff Bowen, Susan Blackwell and Heidi Blickenstaff all appeared in the initial New York productions, including a run at New York Musical Theatre Festival, an Off-Broadway production at the Vineyard Theatre and a Broadway run at the Lyceum Theatre.

The four actors played four friends who collaborate on creating a musical. (The friends' character names continue to hold the names of each actor who originally played them.)
