The play is directed by Kate Whoriskey, and opens March 3 at Circle in the Square Theatre. Modine's early film roles include Billy in Robert Altman’s “Streamers” and Private Joker in Stanley Kubrick’s “Full Metal Jacket.”  He was nominated for an Emmy Award for his role in the television miniseries “And the Band Played On,” and won a Golden Globe Award for his role in the film “Short Cuts.”

Modine's previous theatre credits include Arthur Miller’s Finishing the Picture at Chicago’s Goodman Theatre and Miller’s Resurrection Blues at London’s Old Vic. He also starred as Atticus Finch in a new adaptation of To Kill a Mockingbird at Connecticut’s Hartford Stage.
