Singer-songwriter Tom Andersen will conclude the Signature's Theatre's cabaret season with his solo show, "Far Away Places," on May 24 and 25.
Andersen, a five-time MAC Award winner, has performed at Carnegie Hall, the Algonquin's Oak Room, the Russian Tea Room, Tavern on the Green and was last in the Washington, D.C. area in 2000 when he hosted the "Cabaret Celebration" at the Rosslyn Spectrum. His two solo recordings, "Far Away Places" and "The Journey" are available in stores.
The Signature Theatre, which is located in Arlington, Va., hosts an annual cabaret series, which is simply titled "The Cabaret at Signature." Past performers have included Shauna Hicks, Jeff Harnar, Steven Brinberg ("Simply Barbra") and Judy Simmons. In his upcoming shows, Andersen will feature the tunes of Rodgers and Hammerstein, Jule Styne and Frank Wildhorn.
