News Tom Hewitt to Return to Broadway's Chicago Tom Hewitt, a frequent presence in the Tony Award-winning revival of Chicago, will return to the production at the Ambassador Theatre Sept. 13 as slick lawyer Billy Flynn.

Hewitt will succeed John O'Hurley, who plays his final performance Sept. 12. Hewitt will play a three-week return engagement though Oct. 3.

The singing actor will join a cast that currently includes Tony nominee Charlotte d'Amboise as Roxie Hart, Amra-Faye Wright as Velma Kelly, Raymond Bokhour as Amos Hart and Roz Ryan as Matron "Mama" Morton.

Tom Hewitt's other Broadway credits include Dracula, The Musical; The Boys from Syracuse; The Lion King; School for Scandal; and The Sisters Rosenzweig. He also appeared in the national tours of Urinetown and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and has been seen Off-Broadway in Jeffrey, Beau Jest, Richard III and Othello.

Chicago won the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical in 1997 as well as awards for actors Bebe Neuwirth and James Naughton, director Walter Bobbie, lighting designer Ken Billington and choreographer Ann Reinking. The original production was directed and choreographed by the late Bob Fosse.

 

Chicago plays the Ambassador Theatre, located at 219 West 49th Street.
