Tony Award-winning In the Heights choreographer Andy Blankenbuehler will direct and choreograph the production that will premiere at Atlanta's Alliance Theatre Jan. 15, 2011, and officially open Jan. 28, 2011. The production will run through Feb. 20, 2011.

The 7:30 PM panel discussion on the Alliance Stage will include Blankenbuehler, as well as book writer Jeff Whitty, composer Tom Kitt, composer/lyricist Lin-Manuel Miranda, lyricist Amanda Green and Alliance artistic director Susan V. Booth. The event is free and open to the public.

Bring It On: The Musical is inspired by the film property, but features an original libretto by Tony Award-winning Avenue Q book writer Whitty. The musical retains the setting of the world of competitive cheerleading.

Bring It On has music and lyrics by Tony Award winner Miranda (In The Heights), as well as music by Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning composer Kitt (Next to Normal) and lyrics by his High Fidelity collaborator, lyricist Green.
