Denis Leary and Peter Tolan's series "Rescue Me" — featuring theatre talents Sunjata (Take Me Out) and Pasquale (A Soldier’s Play, A Man of No Importance) — begins its third season on the cable network at its regular time, Tuesdays at 10 PM (ET). Check your local listings. Leary stars in the Emmy Award-nominated series as a New York firefighter grappling with everyday life in the wake of the events of Sept. 11, 2001, opposite Pasquale and Sunjata — who portray members of his fire house. Other series regulars include John Scurti, Michael Lombardi, Jack McGee, Andrea Roth and James McCaffrey.

The new season will be infused with guest stars including Marisa Tomei (Salome, Wait Until Dark), Tatum O'Neal (A Terrible Beauty) and Susan Sarandon (The Guys, The Exonerated).

The New York-set, New York-shot show has also provided television appearances for many other theatre veterans including Michael Mulheren (The Boy from Oz), Charles Durning (Gore Vidal's The Best Man), Callie Thorne (The Last Days of Judas Iscariot), Gerry Bamman (Nixon's Nixon), Julie White (The Little Dog Laughed), Bryan Batt (La Cage aux Folles), Kaitlin Hopkins (The Great American Trailer Park Musical), Ashlie Atkinson (Fat Pig), Mireille Enos (Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf), Idina Menzel (Wicked, Rent), Rosemarie DeWitt (Danny and the Deep Blue Sea), Kate Burton (The Constant Wife) and Portia (Our Lady of 121st Street, McReele).

Behind the camera, Jace Alexander (original cast member of Assassins) has served as a director for a number of episodes. Playwright Stephen Belber (Match, McReele) has also lent his pen to the series as a writer.
